My work isn’t about reproducing reality — it’s about feeling it. I want my collages to spark curiosity, to make people pause, tilt their head, and maybe see the world in a slightly different way.

Hi, I’m Bastiaan van Leeuwen, the artist behind SAPARTISANÉ.
I create art that lives at the intersection of paper, photography, and emotion. Every piece starts with something handmade—cut, folded, or shaped by hand—before being transformed through photography and finished on materials like aluminium. The result is always one-of-a-kind: no reproductions, no copies, just authentic expressions of creativity.
My inspiration comes from nature, architecture, geometry, and everyday life—from the fragile beauty of plants to the strength of architectural lines. I love working with contrasts: soft vs. strong, fragile vs. lasting, abstract vs. recognizable.
Art, for me, is more than decoration. It’s about connection. A piece should not only be seen, but also felt. My goal is to create artworks that resonate with people, spark curiosity, and bring character to a space.
