Diamond Cockatoo – Blue & Pink Portrait – Diamond-Shaped Photo Cutout Collage

In Diamond Cockatoo, a cockatoo portrait is reimagined through Bastiaan van Leeuwen’s diamond-shaped collage technique. Printed photographs and images are cut into geometric pieces and placed by hand, with turquoise blue, pink and yellow defining the final composition.

The final 60 × 80 cm artwork is produced only once on solid 3 mm Aluminium Dibond. It is created for one owner and will not be released as another edition. Up close, the cutouts reveal fragments of the printed source images; from a distance, they join as a unified artwork.
